What equipment do all players need to bring?

Outfield Players

All players are required to play with shin guards & gum-shields, these are non-negotiable. If you as a parent/guardian do not wish your son/daughter to use these items of equipment then you must sign the consent form found within the policy section of our website and hand this to the lead coach at the beginning of camp.

As we are UK based, we are used to all seasons in one day potentially, therefore bring suitable clothing for wet and dry weather along with hockey astro shoes. All players should bring their own hockey sticks, if you are new to the game we have a limited number of sticks available however contact us when booking to ask to avoid disappointment!

All GK’s should bring their own GK kit as we do not provide this.

Performance & Development Camps
All players should bring indoor shoes & a spare pair to change into for lunch/non physical activity. Some S&C could be conducted inside or outside on the astro, and therefore bring appropriate clothing & footwear.

Star Camps

Star camps will be held indoors & outdoors, therefore as we are UK based, we are used to all seasons in one day potentially, therefore bring suitable clothing for wet and dry weather along with shoes for an astro turf.

What playing level do you cater for?

We welcome players of all abilities to camp. We split players based on ability to ensure they are receiving the appropriate stretch. Please let us know your playing level in the form when you register for camp. If you are a beginner we will ensure you are stretched at the appropriate level. Our ethos is based around inspiring the next generation of sporting stars and no matter what the level we hope all players leave camp having been inspired to continue their development.

Is it possible to only sign up to one day at camp?

We understand everyone’s lives are busy and it may not be possible to sign up to the full camp, therefore please contact us directly if you would like to register for 1 day or less than a full camp.

Our camps are designed to ensure sessions include clear progression, to build on players learning throughout camp. Therefore to maximise the learning opportunities we would recommend players to attend the full camp.

What group will my son/daughter be in at camp?

We select groupings based initially on ability but are also conscious of players ages. We want to ensure players are stretched appropriately at camp .However based on certain skills/game sessions it may be more suitable for campers to play with their own age group.

Our International & experienced coaches have experience to make the right call at camp and will always strive to ensure players are safe within a developing environment.

The Sportoló Life Adidas shirts are awesome, how do I get one?

All new players registering to attend a Sportoló Life Camp will receive an Adidas performance shirt for FREE! Train with it on camp, wear it at your school/club with pride and make sure you wear it at future camps.

When you return to Sportoló Life camps, bring your shirt with you to play and look awesome! If you need a new training shirt, you can purchase them on our online shop.

Do Sportoló Life provide lunch or snacks?

No, we recommend you bring your own snacks, packed lunch and drinks to ensure your energy levels are high enough to be unstoppable throughout the day! Please ensure no nuts are brought to camp.

What is the structure of a Sportoló Life camp?

All Sportoló Life camps, no matter the sport are unique in terms of their technical/tactical focus. The wide variety of Internationally recognised coaches sharing their experiences and skill sets means no camp will be the same! The content and delivery will always be different to ensure players are challenged and always learning new content, from our wide ranging international coaches from around the world!

What if we have to cancel our place?

Although we cannot offer refunds, we can sometimes provide you with credit to be used at a future day camp, residential, Academy or 1 to 1 sessions. Unfortunately you would have to let us know before the camp commences, otherwise once the camp has commenced we cannot provide credit.

What if a player can't continue to attend a camp due to COVID19?

We follow all government & NGB Guidelines prior to & during camp, however if camp has commenced & if a player(s) can't continue at one of our camps due to a COVID19 outbreak (or NGB rules state all players must isolate) we are unable to offer refunds or credit.

What if the weather is bad?

As mentioned earlier, our UK based camps are used to challenging weather. We play through rain and wind so please bring appropriate clothing (some spares potentially!) If the weather means there are safety issues (ice or snow covered surfaces) we will look to move indoors to appropriate facilities.

If the weather is really poor & the plan was to be outside for that particular session, we will have access to use indoor facilities.
